Music enthusiasts and fans of the legendary Aretha Franklin are in for a treat. BMG has unveiled a box set that encapsulates Franklin’s influential works from the early 1970s. Titled A Portrait of the Queen – 1970-1974, this collection is set to hit the shelves on December 1.
Albums That Defined a Generation
The box set is a comprehensive compilation of five iconic albums that marked significant milestones in Franklin’s illustrious career. These albums include This Girl’s in Love With You (1970), Spirit in the Dark (1970), Young, Gifted and Black (1972), Hey Now Hey (The Other Side of the Sky) (1973), and Let Me in Your Life (1974). To sweeten the deal, the collection is enriched with an additional 11 bonus tracks and rare gems.

Aretha Franklin, often hailed as the “Queen of Soul,” left a huge mark on gospel and soul music. Her passing in 2018 left a void in the hearts of many. Beyond her music, Franklin’s life was filled with noteworthy moments. One such moment was the resolution of a dispute over her will earlier this year.
